Registration Open!

To All the Coolest Jewish High School Students in Town (That means YOU!)

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year at the Louisville High School of Jewish Studies is now open for all rising 9th-12th grade students! All registration is online again this year to keep things nice and easy!  Simply go to http://www.louisvillehsjs.org/register/ to get started. If you need to register via paper and snail mail, please contact Renee Masterson at hsjsrenee@gmail.com for forms.  You can also order pizza for lunch—$36 for one slice; $72 for two for the entire year—such a deal!

We are open to all Jewish high schoolers, regardless of synagogue affiliation—did you know that we graduated our first class of seniors on April 29? And our Moot Beit Din (Jewish Mock Trial) team took second place in the national competition in March!  You know you want to be a part of this engaging, dynamic, Jewish learning community where you could join our Moot team and study everything from Jews and Cartoons to Kabbalah and Bioethics to Jewish Feminism to Torah Yoga. As a reminder to our new families:  students who wish to serve as madrichim/assistants at LBSY or The Temple, also must attend HSJS.
We have received and listened to some strong concerns expressed by several families about moving HSJS to Wednesday evenings.  After lengthy discussions and much thought, the HSJS board has responded and voted to maintain our Sunday 12:30-2:30 schedule. We hope that all our families, old and new, will, in turn, respect that our community has a vested interest in the continued growth and strength of our program, which means that we need and expect our families to make HSJS and the Jewish education and connections we provide, a priority.  You have my pledge that we will continue to offer the engaging, enriching, and consistently-highly-rated-by-our-students curriculum that you’ve all come to expect from us:  mark Sunday, September 23 on your calendars as our first day!
If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Harlan at hsjssarah@gmail.com.
