We had a great first day of classes today, full of Jewish comic books, Kabbalah, Torah yoga, Jewish Mock Trial, and more! Just your average, eclectic, engaging day at HSJS!
A couple housekeeping details: our day runs from 12:30-2:30 (I think there was confusion about start and stop time with the Hunger Walk last week) and we meet at JFCS at 2821 Klempner Way, across from the JCC. We start out with pizza since many of our students work as madrichim/assistants at The Temple and LBSY, so if you’d like your child to have pizza, it’s not too late to sign them up—just shoot me a quick email letting me know if s/he’d like 1 or 2 slices and then send a check for $36 (1) or $72 (2) to HSJS, 3600 Dutchmans Lane, 40205. You can also send the check in next week. If your child will only want pizza occasionally, feel free to send them with a few dollars and they can purchase pizza for $2/slice.
Finally, this is the last call to sign up for the 10th grade (and now opened to 9th grade as well) trip to DC on Sunday, November 4. I have a couple spots open, so please let me know today or tomorrow at the absolute latest—it will be first email/first serve. I’ll need your child’s legal name and date of birth to add them to the group. Your $100 non-refundable deposit in case you need to cancel after we’ve ticketed, can be sent next Sunday (remember, they’ll get that money back on the morning of the trip to use as spending money).
Thank you all for helping kick off our year on such a positive note!
