I trust everyone had a rejuvenating Spring Break and you’re ready to finish off our HSJS year strong during our last two sessions! We’ll be together for engaging class time this coming Sunday, April 17th, we’re off April 24th for Pesach, and then we’ll come together again on Sunday, May 1st for our last session of the 2015-16/5776 school year. While it’s always important that you let us know if your children will be absent, it’s especially critical for May 1 when we’ll be having our third annual, famous, last day, Mediterranean feast. I’ll need a headcount no later than Wednesday April 20th, but feel free to let me know as soon as you finish reading this post!
For those of you parents of last year’s 10th graders, I’ve got important news for you as well! I’m excited to announce that the Louisville High School of Jewish Studies will be launching a new initiative next fall when we welcome 11th and 12th graders to our program. As most of you probably know already, perhaps from your own post-Bar/Bat Mitzvah Jewish education, the norm across the country is to continue one’s supplemental Jewish education through 12th grade. We’ll be offering some exciting classes and experiential learning opportunities, so keep your eyes peeled for our registration email sometime in May or June. We’re so up-to-date, we’ll be handling all registrations online!
