Sincere thanks to those of you who let us know your child would be absent yesterday—it helps us be smarter planners for lunch and class time. Unfortunately, there were about twice as many students absent as expected—I can’t emphasize this enough: please let us know if your child will be absent no later than “Erev HSJS,” or 10 pm on the Saturday night before. It’s important that we’re all good stewards of tuition, allocation, and grant dollars! And speaking of allocation dollars—we could not keep our doors open without the support of the annual JCL Campaign—if you’ve already pledged, thank you very much. If you haven’t yet, please consider contributing—it makes a significant difference to your child’s experience at HSJS!
One more housekeeping note—if your child needs to leave early, please either email me or send me a text to that effect. This is a safety issue, so please take a minute or two to let me know.
There are some exciting things coming up for us and the entire community: The 18th Annual Jewish Film Festival kicks off this week and we’ll be heading to the Village 8 on February 21st to see the film, Rock the Red Zone. Pick up and drop off will be at the theatre, but I’ll remind everyone when it’s closer to the event.
