We had another great day of engaging Jewish learning today: some of our 10th graders began planning for their Confirmation next spring and our budding animators are getting closer to a final product that they will (hopefully) be able to share with the community as part of the annual Louisville Jewish Film Festival.
As many of you may have read in my Remind text message last night, there was a rumor that we didn’t have class today—please remember that while LBSY, The Temple, and HSJS all work together cooperatively, we all set our schedules separately according to the needs of the communities we serve. There will be times when LBSY or The Temple doesn’t have school and we will and visa versa. If you’re not signed up for our Remind text alerts, please do it now by texting @hsjs502 to 81010. This will become especially important if I have to cancel classes at the last minute because of inclement weather (and cancellations due to weather follow the same rule— we all make our decisions independently based on the communities we serve).
We will be meeting next December 3 for a wonderful opportunity to engage in some tikkun olam together as a school: JFCS is sponsoring their annual Chanukah Helpers community service project that Sunday and they are counting on us to help out! They do need to know how many students to expect so they can have enough materials and supplies, so please let me know if your child will be attending that day no later than next Monday, November 30.
Wishing you all a delicious Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones!
