The mission of the High School of Jewish Studies (HSJS) is to instill in high school students a solid Jewish knowledge base, a pride in one’s Jewish identity, and a desire to continue to live an active Jewish life upon graduation and beyond. Students will also gain an appreciation for the diversity of Jewish thought and practice as well as a desire to pursue social justice in both the Jewish and secular communities. The school is open to students across the denominational spectrum, regardless of synagogue affiliation. The school is a member of JTEEN, Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Network Professionals.
Classes are in session on Sundays from 3:30-5:30 with a few exceptions as noted on our calendar to accommodate special programming. The principal, Sarah Harlan, is available to meet with students and parents at a mutually convenient time and place. To request an appointment, please call or text 502-767-2071.
